Two months ago Chennai-based TV broadcaster Sun TV Network has appointed former Star India president Ajay Vidyasagar as CEO. Now, it has now hired Sanjay Reddy, Zee Group’s southern chief operating officer (COO), as its senior vice-president for Telugu, which has a total of six channels: Gemini TV, Teja TV, Gemini News, Gemini Music, Navvulu TV and Kushi TV.
He will continue to be based at Hyderabad and will report directly to , Kalanithi Maran,chairman and managing director of Sun TV Network. Maran said that Sanjay Reddy would be joining Sun from September 1.
Prior to being elevated as COO at Zee South earlier this year, Reddy was chief executive officer (CEO), Zee Telugu. He had joined the company in September 2007 as business head of Zee Telugu. He has close to 20 years of experience in the media industry.
Reddy, who holds a post-graduate degree in business administration from Pune University, has also worked with organizations such as The Times of India, CNBC-TV18 (then ABNi), Siti Cable, ESPN, Star Sports, Pearl Media, Walt Disney Television International (India), India TV and Sony Entertainment Television India (now MSM India).
